Sriwijaya Sports Journal was established on September 9, 2021 with the chief editor Dr. Iyakrus, M. Kes. and Dr. Wahyu Indra Bayu, M.Pd.

On October 27, 2021, ISSN (Print) was successfully registered with the number 2808-5701 and on October 26, 2021, ISSN (Online) was successfully registered with the number 2808-5299.

October 18, 2021, Sriwijaya Journal of Sport has published Volume 1 Number 1, October 2021

December 20, 2022, Sriwijaya Journal of Sport has been indexed by DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)

Since October 2024, the Sriwijaya Journal of Sport website has moved to Sriwijaya Journal of Sport

This journal has been accredited by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA), managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, with the Second Rank (SINTA 4) from 2022 to 2027 (Vol. 6 No. 1, October 2027). Number: 177/E/KPT/2024
